Meet Your Counselor: Kate Brown
Kate’s own art-making and spiritual life inspires her passion for helping people walk a path of wisdom. Kate is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist. She holds a Masters Degree in Art Therapy from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary: Theology and Studio Art began Kate’s journey in art as a spiritual path.
Kate engages creative and integrative mental health techniques to address client needs. She has provided art therapy to older adults, veterans, service members and their children for the treatment of trauma, PTSD, TBI and DID. Her training in trauma therapy inspires Kate to attend to clients seeking safety and resiliency to renew trust and meaning and experience post-traumatic growth and healing. Kate believes the lives of individual people, families and communities can be enriched through active art-making, the creative process and a psychotherapeutic relationship rooted in psychological theory.
